“It’s critical to try and match the ‘Culture’ of the organization to the senior based on their hobbies and interests. First, I like to match the proper clinical support they need. I'm also working to match their new environment to their interests and activities, even the general culture of the facility or nurse staff. This can really enhance the enjoyment and happiness level of your loved one.”

Assisted Living
Independent Living Communities
Customized Living Options
Unique housing options which focus on more or less assistance, depending on client’s care requirements.
Housekeeping
No longer will your loved one have to toil with everyday chores like laundry, cleaning and house repair.
Pet-Friendly Environments
Wanting to move with your furry friend? Absolutely! Many independent living communities allow pets or offer pet therapy.
Community
The largest unspoken struggle that afflicts many senior citizens is loneliness. Human connection is one of our most basic needs and yet as we age, more and more seniors can find themselves isolated within their own homes. Loneliness and isolation can worsen health conditions and increase the risk of cognitive decline. Providing a community can be critical.
Activities
Adults who are ‘in action’ and engaged tend to live happier, fuller lives. Providing seniors with planned activities among their peers instills their sense of connection and belonging. This is a key requirement for the communities we support. A variety of events and activities that appeal to many tastes and preferences are available.
Dining options
Choose from dining with your community or private meals at home. Meals typically focus on your family member’s health as unique dietary preferences are carefully considered.
Transportation
Complimentary transportation services are often provided for activities and off site visits.
Hospice
Hospice care is a specialty form of care that focuses on providing maximum comfort and contentment to your family member as they enter the end of their life cycle. In addition, hospice caregivers are skilled in providing emotional and spiritual comfort for not only the client but their families. Care options can be partly directed by the client’s medical conditions. Much of the time hospice care can be given from the peace of the client’s home and this may be the right solution, but there are also high functioning nursing homes, assisted living communities or other private residences that can blend into a hospice solution.
Often there is a dedicated team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors and certified home health aides to provide comfortable care, required pain relief, and excellent psychological support for this end of life phase. By meeting with you and your loved one, one on one, Helena will work with you for the solution that best fits your family member’s needs.
The companies I contacted before Helena kept pushing me towards their network, and didn’t seem to care about my aunt’s unique medical needs and individual preferences. Helena not only listened to us, but recommended a care center that provided medical services that actually enhanced her treatment plan!”
